At 8:30 a.m., begin your hike from Lushoto town to Kwembago, the royal village where the first Sambaa king resided. Next, proceed to the tropical rainforest of Magamba. Here, you can see Jackson's chameleons, birds, vervet monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, and a variety of colorful butterflies in addition to touring a German trench cave. After lunch at Magamba Viewpoint, you will hike to Lukozi and spend the night at the Migombani Guesthouse.
After breakfast, you will depart at 9 a.m. and travel through farms to observe banana and coffee plantations and get a taste of village life. In addition to trying your hand at making and tasting sugarcane juice, you will enjoy breathtaking views of Lushoto's undulating hills. To spend the night and eat dinner, you will trek to Rangwi Sister's convent. This German missionary is quite elderly.
Hike through the stunning Shagayu rainforest to start the day. The renowned Usambara violet flower, which Saint Paul discovered in 1884, can be seen here. After seeing them create clay pots, you can visit a traditional medicine man at the Women's Pottery Society. You will reach Mtae viewpoint (an elevation of 1900m) at 6:30 p.m. to witness the sunset. At Mount Tae Lutheran Mission, you will spend the night and eat dinner.
From Mtae, take an early morning bus to Kwesimu village. From here, it will take you about an hour to hike to Irente Farm. Before traveling to Irente viewpoint, which offers stunning views of the sisal plantations and cliff tops, have a breakfast of fresh produce here. The tour will then come to an end as you return to Lushoto town.
