,p>After arriving in the Southern region in the afternoon, spend the remainder of the game driving and exploring the area before spending the night at your camp, which is situated in the middle of the bush!Experience a full day of game driving and exploration in the Southern Serengeti, also known as "Ndutu." There is a lot to see here, including a variety of wooded areas and large, short grass plains. The arrival of herbivores will bring the big cats out for a feast, and the plains will be bustling with activity as millions of zebra and wildebeest come here to graze!
The Great Migration—more especially, the December–March calving season—is what made Ndutu most well-known. Predators follow the thousands of zebras and wildebeests drawn by this natural phenomenon, providing breathtaking chances to see wildlife.
The ecosystem of the region is home to a wide range of wildlife, including vulnerable and endangered species. Big cats like lions, cheetahs, and leopards call it home, and a wide variety of birds call it home as well. You will return to the Ngorongoro Highlands following a final morning game drive in the Southern Serengeti. You will descend to the crater floor for a game drive and to explore the amazing wildlife haven after arriving at the Ngorongoro Crater rim around lunchtime!
The world's largest intact caldera is regarded as a natural wonder. The floor is 264 km² in size. One of the greatest locations in Tanzania to see the "Big 5" is this location, which was once an active volcano that collapsed on itself. The caldera's sides rise to 2,000 feet, and the crater's floor is home to a freshwater and saltwater lake as well as a variety of wildlife, such as elephants, lions, rhinos, and water buffalo. After your game drive, climb the rim of the crater.
Before beginning the transfer to Mafia Island, take advantage of one last morning in Karatu. Your driver will drop you off at the airport so you can catch your flight to Dar Es Salaam. From DAR, it's a 35-minute flight to Mafia Island, where you'll change to a smaller aircraft.

You will meet your crew and receive a briefing at the nearby marine park after breakfast, after which you will board a boat to search for the gentle giants known as whale sharks! After you've been spotted, you'll be told to go into the water and approach the whale sharks in silence. You can swim alongside them and take in their enormous size for a while.
Please be aware that we follow responsible marine tourism, which prohibits touching or interacting in any way with whale sharks. You will return to your lodging for relaxation and enjoyment following the excursion.
Spend this day however you like: go diving, snorkel with whale sharks once more, or visit Chole Island. You have the option to include extra free days in the program for leisure or other activities based on your needs.
