The safari begins with pickup from the airport or hotel in Nairobi. Drive along the Great Rift Valley bottom and via the base town of Narok to reach Masai Mara after the safari briefing. Depart Nairobi at 8:00 a.m. Enjoy a wildlife drive in the Masai Mara National Reserve in the afternoon. Overnight and dinner are at Mara Sopa Lodge.
Accommodation:Mara Sopa LodgeFollowing breakfast, you can enjoy a full day of game drives in the Masai Mara, including morning and evening excursions. A similar property to the first day will be used for the overnight stay. You can see a variety of animals within the park during this game drive. At Masai Mara Sopa Lodge for the night
Accommodation; Mara Sopa LodgeWe should rise early in order to cross into Tanzania and enter Serengeti National Park. We'll travel to the border town of Isebania and the Tanzanian border crossing.
Despite sharing an ecosystem with the Masai Mara, the Serengeti is where the vast majority of wildlife is born and raised before moving into the Mara to seek out taller grasses and more sources of water that are essential to life.
We have planned this safari for a full day of exploring this amazing park, just like at the Mara. Take a number of game drives in the morning and afternoon. You can't miss the countless wildebeests here, and depending on the time of year, you might see thousands of them give birth. The Great Migration starts when these animals migrate to the Masai Mara later in the year.
Although there are arguably more lions in the Serengeti than anywhere else, we will also be looking for cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, gazelles, eland, impala, hippo, and the inquisitive and downright hilarious warthog. The Serengeti's vastness and diverse wildlife exhibits never cease to astound.
We will leave early and travel to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for the entire day. We will stop along the way at Oldupai Gorge, the most well-known anthropological site in the world, where early human fossils and tools were found.
We will arrive at the largest intact volcanic caldera, the Ngorongoro Crater. As we descend in our 4x4, we will enter a wildlife sanctuary that is home to flamingos, elephants, big cats, and rare black rhinos. We'll go on more game drives after lunch on the crater floor, and then we'll climb back up for a breathtaking sunset at the edge.
We can witness a breathtaking sunrise at the edge of the crater if we get up early. We're heading to Lake Manyara National Park now.
Despite being a small park, Lake Manyara is well-known for its beauty and, of course, the lake itself. Here, color is crucial; the lake's blue hue contrasts with the thousands of feathery pink flamingos that adorn its shores. It's a sight that will captivate and is as iconic as any in Africa. Another notable feature of the park is its unique tree-climbing lions, an intriguing evolutionary adaptation. Keep an eye out for them above, either sleeping or hunting from their treetop perch.
Early morning light makes this lovely park even more peaceful and lovely. To enjoy the scenery, the color, and maybe some larger game like baboons, giraffes, impalas, gazelles, and hippo, we'll go on another game drive.
