Your adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel in Arusha. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the way to Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day exploration. Descend 2000 feet into the crater in a 4x4 vehicle, taking in its vast beauty before ascending to your lodge on the crater’s rim. Ngorongoro Crater, often called "Africa’s Eden" and the "8th Natural Wonder of the World," is a must-visit for tourists in Tanzania.
The Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) is home to this remarkable caldera, which formed around 2.5 million years ago when a volcanic mountain collapsed. It was once thought to be taller than Mount Kilimanjaro. Today, the crater is a crucial part of Tanzania's ecosystem, measuring 22.5 km across with rim walls rising 600m. The views from both within the crater and the rim are absolutely stunning.
The crater supports around 30,000 animals and a diverse range of bird species, most of which remain within the area year-round due to its constant water supply, even during dry seasons. In the evening, return to the lodge for a delicious dinner and a restful overnight stay.
After breakfast, you'll be picked up from your hotel and begin the journey from Ngorongoro to Central Serengeti. Upon arrival, meet your expert driver guide and embark on a thrilling full-day game drive through this part of the park to witness the spectacular Great Migration.
Serengeti National Park is renowned for its impressive resident wildlife, including the iconic "Big Five" – the five most sought-after trophies in hunting. The Serengeti is home to Africa's largest lion population, with over 3,000 individuals thriving here due to abundant prey. African leopards, elusive and graceful, are often spotted in the Seronera region and are found throughout the park, with around 1,000 in total. Additionally, the majestic African elephants, the largest land mammals, can be seen roaming freely across this vast landscape.
After enjoying breakfast at the camp, you'll depart with a picnic lunch for an exciting game drive to explore the Great Migration.
