It does: travellers who skim the Grumeti arrive at the beach still hungry, while those who fished every pool and bank arrive complete and ready to rest. Give the river your full attention — dawn pools, midday banks, dusk woods — and the island will feel earned rather than attached. On the beach, do the opposite of the river: no alarms, no targets, no checklist. The loop's two halves want opposite travellers; be both, in order.

Vehicle Bean Bags

Dust is the #1 enemy of camera equipment. Bring a camera dust blower, lens cleaning cloths, and a rain cover (dust cover). Zip-lock bags for memory cards and batteries. Avoid changing lenses in open air when possible.

Health & Vaccinations
Yellow Fever certificate required if travelling from an endemic country. Recommended: Hepatitis A, Typhoid, Tetanus, and routine vaccinations. Malaria prophylaxis is strongly recommended — consult your doctor 4-6 weeks before travel.
Travel Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory. Must cover medical evacuation, trip cancellation, baggage loss, and emergency repatriation. We recommend World Nomads, SafetyWing, or your local provider. We do not sell insurance but can advise on adequate coverage.
