3-Day Serengeti Game Drive Safari
Five Drive Windows Across Central Serengeti and the Kopjes
The classic three-night-frame game drive safari: an afternoon drive in, two full days of dawn and dusk 4x4 search time across the central Serengeti and Moru kopjes, and a final morning window before the road home — wildlife on its own schedule and every plan confirmed in writing.
A First Safari That Feels Complete
The three-day game drive safari is the shape most first-time safaris take: an afternoon drive on arrival, a full day of dawn and dusk search time, and a final morning window before the road home — all spent on the central Serengeti's classic big-species ground plus the Moru kopjes.
Five drive windows mean the main predator hours of the day are covered, which is what visitors actually come for. Wildlife stays an honest variable; what the three-day promises is the ground, the guiding and two confirmed nights, all in writing.
- Five 4x4 drive windows in three days
- Central Serengeti plus the Moru kopjes
- Two nights in a confirmed camp or lodge
- Private vehicle or shared group, confirmed
- Road transfer from Arusha and back
The 3-Day Game Drive Safari at a Glance
Three days and five drive windows on classic big-species ground — the first safari that feels properly complete, confirmed on paper before you travel.
3-day Drive Clock
The three-day runs the three days and the five drives, with each drive measured by light rather than kilometre.
The two central bases keep every window close..
3-day Comfort Tier
Your 3-day base standard is confirmed before a property name is ever printed — camping, tented, mid-range or lodge.
Property names for the 3-day always appear on the confirmed quote first.
3-day Zone Range
The three-day keeps its drive hours inside the focused central and kopje ground, with short moves and long windows.
Zones on the 3-day can close seasonally; access is confirmed honestly.
3-day Overnight Plan
both nights sit inside the drive zone so every window of the three-day opens with a short, predictable run.
No overnight property is promised for the 3-day until it is confirmed on paper.
3-day Route In
You travel via Arusha or Kilimanjaro International, then the road transfer into the Serengeti so the three-day clock starts clean.
Routing for the 3-day is confirmed at booking against your flight times.
3-day Drive Structure
The three-day runs five drive windows spread morning and evening across the stay, paced the classic way — predators at first light, rest through the heat, action again at dusk.
The two central bases keep every window close..
3-day Quote
Your three-day is priced on request for party size and dates, with drives, nights, meals and park fees itemised line by line.
The 3-day game drive price is dated to season, itemised and sent in writing.
3-day Season
Across the three-day the dry months concentrate wildlife around water and fresh grass; green months trade drivability for drama.
No month promises a full catalogue on the 3-day.
3-day Wildlife Notes
Lions, leopard, elephants and buffalo are the day-to-day targets of the three-day; herds move on their own calendar.
The 3-day plans the ground, never the sightings.
3-day Big Five Expectation
On the three-day the drive time is spent where the big five are most often found, and the wild keeps the final say.
A full five in three-day is a bonus, never a guarantee.
3-day Meal Timing
Meals across the three-day ride the drive rhythm — breakfast before the dawn run, picnic lunch in the shade, dinner at camp.
Dietary needs land in the 3-day written plan, never a surprise.
3-day Game Drive Booking
Send your dates and party size for the three-day; we return a written confirmation with the price and every drive line item.
Every line of the 3-day plan is confirmed before travel.
Three Days Built Around the Drives
An afternoon drive, two full predator days and a closing morning window — the road work fits around the viewing, never the other way round.
The road line runs west across the highlands and through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area boundary onto the Serengeti plains; fly-in guests meet the vehicle at the Seronera airstrip. An early enough start keeps the afternoon window for the first drive block.
The first game drive threads the riverine and open-grassland areas around Seronera. Lions on kills, leopards along the riverine figs and elephants at the waterholes are the classic finds on this ground, though the wild sets the pace.
Dinner and the first night in a confirmed camp or lodge close the day. Meals follow the confirmed plan; the overnight property is never assumed, always confirmed on paper.
Pre-dawn departure for the day's first drive while the plains are still in the cold morning light — the classic hour for lion hunts and leopard movement along the water lines.
Mid-morning returns to camp or a shade-line picnic stop for food and rest through the hot middle hours, the standard Serengeti rhythm that keeps the day's energy for the important hours.
A late-afternoon drive closes the day as the light turns golden and predators stir again; the exact drive line follows where the morning's sightings and the season place the animals. Dinner, then a second night at the confirmed camp or lodge.
One last early drive — the final chance at the herds and the cats before the road work begins, using the freshest light of the day.
The return leg crosses the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descends toward Arusha with a picnic stop and the park-formalities pause at the gate. Journey time depends on road conditions, wildlife stoppages and the season — planned, not promised to the hour.
Arrival in Arusha lands early to mid afternoon, leaving the evening free. Onward connections or an overnight in town are your own arrangement. End of the 3-day route.
Why the 3-Day Game Drive Safari?
Three days is the shape of the classic first safari — enough dawns to actually find the cats.
Two Full Predator Days
Five drive windows cover the kill hours of two full days — the difference between glimpsing the Serengeti and reading it.
Central Ground, Moru Added
Seronera riverine country for the classic cats, the Moru kopjes for leopards and the old fig trees.
The Dawn Dusk Rhythm
Search early and late, rest through the heat — the pattern that fills a wildlife day without burning you out.
Two Nights, Real Immersion
Sleeping on the plains twice changes the feel of the trip; dusk and dawn belong to the park.
Honest, Unrushed Pacing
Every transfer is sized so the drive windows survive the logistics — no hours stolen by the road.
Written Down Before Departure
Vehicle, camp or lodge, meals and drive times all confirmed on paper before you commit.
Your Route — Drive, Sleep, Drive, Sleep, Drive Home
If the confirmed flight uses a connection, the routing adjusts to the airline schedule.
Arusha Departure
Road via the Ngorongoro boundary or a scheduled flight into Seronera.
Afternoon Game Drive
Seronera riverine and grassland windows.
Full Predator Day
Dawn and dusk drives across central ground.
Moru Kopjes
Leopard and fig-tree country.
Final Drive & Return
Closing morning window, then the road home.

Meet Your Expert Safari Guide
Your guide is the difference between a good safari and a life-changing one. Every Kizza Adventures guide is born-and-raised Tanzanian with years of professional experience.
Daniel Mrith "” Kizza Adventures Safari Guide
"Jambo! I'm Daniel, born and raised at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro in a small village called Moshi. I've been guiding safaris for over 12 years "” I started as a driver-guide assistant, learning every river crossing, kopje, and lion pride territory by heart before I ever led my first solo trip. I still get excited every time I enter the Serengeti.
My most memorable sighting? Last July, we watched a cheetah mother teach her three cubs to hunt on the Serengeti plains "” it took over two hours, and by the end there wasn't a dry eye in the vehicle. These are the moments a guide book can't prepare you for.
I know the Serengeti like my backyard "” where the lions are resting at 10 AM, where the leopards hunt at dusk, and where the migration will be based on the last rains. Let me show you the Tanzania I grew up loving."

The Great Migration & Best Time to Visit
The Serengeti ecosystem changes dramatically throughout the year. Here's when to go and what to expect.
The Great Migration "” Nature's Greatest Spectacle
The Great Migration involves over 1.5 million wildebeest, 400,000 zebras, and 200,000 gazelles moving in a continuous cycle across the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem. Travel during migration periods and your guide can plan game-viewing around current wildlife movements, subject to natural conditions and the location of the herds on your travel dates.
December"“March: Calving season in the southern Serengeti (Ndutu area). Thousands of calves born daily. Predator action is at its peak.
April"“May: Migration moves through central Serengeti. Long rains "” fewer crowds, lush landscapes, lower rates.
June"“October: Dry season. Migration concentrates in northern Serengeti. River crossings at Grumeti and Mara Rivers "” the most dramatic wildlife viewing of the year.
November: Short rains. Migration moves south. Good wildlife viewing with fewer tourists.
Guides plan around current wildlife movements, subject to natural conditions and herd locations on your travel dates.
Month-by-Month Wildlife Calendar
Temperature range: 18°C (64°F) mornings to 28°C (82°F) afternoons. Crater rim evenings drop to 10°C (50°F) "” bring a jacket.
Great Migration Month-by-Month Tracker
Follow the herds across the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem. Our guides update this in real-time based on current migration patterns.
We track the migration by satellite and guide reports. Your itinerary adapts to where the herds are.
Safari Photography Guide
Capture the Serengeti like a pro. Our guides are trained to help you get the shot.
Recommended Gear
DSLR or mirrorless with a telephoto zoom (200-400mm or 100-400mm ideal). A wide-angle (16-35mm) for landscapes and camp shots. Spare batteries and memory cards are essential "” charging available at all lodges.
Golden Hour Magic
The best light is 6:00"“8:30 AM and 4:30"“6:30 PM. Our game drives are scheduled around these windows. The low angle creates warm tones, long shadows, and dramatic wildlife portraits.
Drone Regulations
Drones are strictly prohibited in Tanzanian national parks without special permits. Do not bring a drone "” it will be confiscated at the airport. We offer professional aerial footage upon request (pre-arranged).
Guide Positioning
Our guides communicate with each other via radio to share sightings. They position the vehicle at the optimal angle for light, composition, and safety. Don't hesitate to ask your guide to move the vehicle for a better shot.
Vehicle Bean Bags
Each vehicle has a window-mount bean bag for lens stabilization. This is more effective than a tripod and allows quick setup when the action is happening. We also carry a monopod in the vehicle.
Protect Your Gear
Dust is the #1 enemy of camera equipment. Bring a camera dust blower, lens cleaning cloths, and a rain cover (dust cover). Zip-lock bags for memory cards and batteries. Avoid changing lenses in open air when possible.

Essential Travel Tips for Tanzania
Everything you need to know before you arrive "” visa, vaccines, money, SIM cards, and more.
Visa Requirements
Most nationalities require a visa for Tanzania. E-visa available at visa.immigration.go.tz (apply 2+ weeks before travel). Visa on arrival also available at JRO/NBO airports "” $50 USD for US citizens, $50 for most others. Check your country's specific requirements.
Health & Vaccinations
Yellow Fever certificate required if travelling from an endemic country. Recommended: Hepatitis A, Typhoid, Tetanus, and routine vaccinations. Malaria prophylaxis is strongly recommended "” consult your doctor 4-6 weeks before travel.
Travel Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory. Must cover medical evacuation, trip cancellation, baggage loss, and emergency repatriation. We recommend World Nomads, SafetWing, or your local provider. We do not sell insurance but can advise on adequate coverage.
Money & Tipping
USD is widely accepted. Carry small bills ($1, $5, $10, $20) for tips and incidentals. ATMs available in Arusha but unreliable in safari areas. Recommended tipping: guide $20-30/day, cook $10-15/day. Credit cards accepted at lodges (3-5% surcharge).
SIM Cards & Internet
Buy a local SIM at JRO airport arrivals or in Arusha. Vodacom and Airtel have the best coverage in safari areas. 10GB data costs ~$10. Lodge WiFi is available but can be slow in remote areas. WhatsApp works well throughout most of the Serengeti.
Tipping Culture & Etiquette
Tanzania has a tipping culture. Tipping is not mandatory but is appreciated. Safari guides rely on tips as a significant part of their income. Tipping guideline: Safari guide $20-30 per person per day. Lodge staff $5-10 per day. Use the lodge tip box for general staff.
