Three nights, four drives and one short flight across Tanzania.
Your fly-in safari opens with a transfer from your Zanzibar hotel to the airport and check-in for the scheduled bush flight. The aircraft carries a small number of passengers, so departure is quick and the window seat gives an unbroken view of the coast, the mainland plains and the volcanic highlands.
Depending on the confirmed service the routing to the Serengeti may be direct or connect through a northern Tanzanian hub; the itinerary spells out the pattern before you travel. As the aircraft descends, the airstrip appears as a shadowy strip of gravel in endless grass.
