After a final morning in the Serengeti, the private vehicle heads back through the conservation corridor into Ngorongoro country, climbing onto the crater rim through forested highland.

The afternoon is spent at your rim lodge with its famous view down into the crater — a viewpoint that few landscapes rival. Optional rim walks are possible where arranged.

Dinner and overnight are at the rim lodge, jackets on as the highland air cools after sunset.

The highlands sit above 2,200 metres, so evenings are noticeably cooler than on the plains; bring warmer layers.
