Glass Far, Drive Little
Eastern grass rewards the highest viewpoint and the longest glass: cheetahs show as dots at a kilometre, hunts telegraph in gazelle behaviour long before the sprint. Park on the highest legal ground with the engine off and scan in slow quarters — near to far, left to right, twice over. The vehicle that drives most sees least out here. When gazelles start running in lines, look behind them, not at them: the chase is already on, and the finish happens where the lines converge.

Vehicle Bean Bags

Dust is the #1 enemy of camera equipment. Bring a camera dust blower, lens cleaning cloths, and a rain cover (dust cover). Zip-lock bags for memory cards and batteries. Avoid changing lenses in open air when possible.

Visa Requirements
Most nationalities require a visa for Tanzania. E-visa available at visa.immigration.go.tz (apply 2+ weeks before travel). Visa on arrival also available at JRO/NBO airports — $50 USD for US citizens, $50 for most others. Check your country's specific requirements.
Health & Vaccinations
Yellow Fever certificate required if travelling from an endemic country. Recommended: Hepatitis A, Typhoid, Tetanus, and routine vaccinations. Malaria prophylaxis is strongly recommended — consult your doctor 4-6 weeks before travel.
