Approach each granite island downwind and glass every ledge before the vehicle moves on — lions match lichen-grey rock so well they vanish until an ear flicks. Save the rock-art shelters for the heat of midday when cats are flat and light is harsh anyway; the paintings photograph best in shade. On sunrise morning, be on the access rocks before first light with coffee in hand: herds file past below in blue half-light while the pride wakes above you.

Vehicle Bean Bags

Dust is the #1 enemy of camera equipment. Bring a camera dust blower, lens cleaning cloths, and a rain cover (dust cover). Zip-lock bags for memory cards and batteries. Avoid changing lenses in open air when possible.

Health & Vaccinations
Yellow Fever certificate required if travelling from an endemic country. Recommended: Hepatitis A, Typhoid, Tetanus, and routine vaccinations. Malaria prophylaxis is strongly recommended — consult your doctor 4-6 weeks before travel.
