Stone town of Zanzibar is also known as Mji Mkongwe or the Old town Zanzibar. Stone town is found on the Western coast of Unguja Island and is the main city of Zanzibar city. The name Stone town was derived from the builings and the houses built with local stones which were built by the Arab traders in during the slave trade in 19th Century.
