Three Parks, One Unforgettable Safari
Picture this: Instead of spending eight hours on dusty roads, you begin your adventure with a morning game drive from Arusha. Lions, elephants, and giraffes are often seen within the first hours of your safari. That's the power of a tented safari.
Our 6-Day Luxury Tented Safari is the perfect mid-length escape, combining three of Tanzania's most iconic destinations: Lake Manyara National Park, Serengeti National Park, and the Ngorongoro Crater. Begin your journey with a game drive in Lake Manyara, famous for its tree-climbing lions and vast elephant herds, then travel through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to the endless plains of the Serengeti for two full days of Big Five game viewing. Descend 600 metres into the Ngorongoro Crater floor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site teeming with wildlife including the endangered black rhino.
With Lake Manyara, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro covered in 6 days, you gain diverse wildlife experiences across different ecosystems plus a morning en-route game drive as you transfer toward the Ngorongoro highlands. The highlight — sleeping in luxury tented camps under the African sky — is an experience that stays with you forever. Lions, hippos, flamingos, and the endangered black rhino await.
Every detail is taken care of: private guide, all meals, park fees, and transfers. You simply show up and experience Tanzania's wildlife at its most magnificent.
As your Land Cruiser crosses the Serengeti plains, herds of wildebeest and zebra graze beside you. Within hours of arrival, your first game drive begins - not tomorrow, not after lunch, but now. This is the tented difference.

Detailed Itinerary
Day-by-day breakdown of your 6-Day Luxury Tented Safari & Ngorongoro Crater Luxury Safari experience.
Morning: Your luxury tented safari begins with a 7:00 AM pickup from your Arusha hotel or Kilimanjaro International Airport. After a brief orientation with your safari coordinator, you'll depart for Lake Manyara National Park, approximately a 2-hour drive through the Great Rift Valley. The scenic route passes through Maasai villages and offers stunning views of the valley escarpment. Your private guide and customised Toyota Land Cruiser with pop-up roof will be your home for the next six days.
Midday: Arrive at Lake Manyara's main gate and begin your first game drive immediately. Lake Manyara is famous for its tree-climbing lions, vast elephant herds, and over 400 bird species including thousands of flamingos along the lake shore. The park's groundwater forest, open savannah, and the alkaline lake itself create diverse habitats for an incredible range of wildlife including zebra, giraffe, hippo, and buffalo.
Afternoon: Check into your luxury tented camp, where you'll be greeted with a cool towel and welcome drink. After settling in, depart for your first afternoon game drive (approximately 3 hours, 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM). The golden hour light is perfect for photography, with the Rift Valley escarpment providing a dramatic backdrop.
Evening: Return to camp as the sun sets over the Rift Valley. Freshen up before a gourmet multi-course dinner under the stars. Retire to your luxury tent or stargaze from your private veranda.
Photography Tip: The Rift Valley escarpment at sunset provides a stunning backdrop. A telephoto lens is essential for capturing tree-climbing lions in the acacia trees.
Accommodation: Lake Manyara Tree Lodge or similar (en-suite bathroom, private deck, indoor/outdoor shower)
Meals: Lunch & Dinner
Early Morning: Wake up at 5:45 AM for early morning tea or coffee. Depart at 6:15 AM for a full-day exploration of Lake Manyara's diverse habitats. Morning drives are ideal for predator sightings as lions, leopards, and hyenas are most active after a night of hunting. Keep an eye on the acacia branches for the park's famous tree-climbing lions.
Midday: Enjoy a bush breakfast under a giant acacia tree - hot coffee, fresh fruit, pastries, and cooked options while surrounded by wildlife. Continue through the groundwater forest, known for blue monkeys, bushbuck, and abundant birdlife including hornbills, barbets, and turacos.
Afternoon: Gourmet picnic lunch at a scenic spot overlooking the alkaline lake, where thousands of flamingos create a pink shoreline. The afternoon targets different habitats - the lake shore for hippos and waterfowl, open plains for zebra and wildebeest, and the forest for primates and forest birds.
Evening: Return journey around 4:30 PM with a final game drive along a different route. Enjoy sundowner cocktails at a panoramic viewpoint over the Rift Valley before a three-course dinner around the campfire.
Wildlife Note: Lake Manyara is one of the only places in Tanzania where tree-climbing lions are regularly seen. The park also hosts over 400 bird species including flamingos, pelicans, storks, and African fish eagles.

The landscape transforms dramatically from highland forest to vast open plains as you descend into the Serengeti ecosystem.
Afternoon: Arrive in the central Serengeti (Seronera area) by early afternoon. Check into your luxury tented camp and enjoy lunch with panoramic views across the endless plains. Depart for an afternoon game drive to explore the Seronera River valley, known for its high concentration of predators.

Early Morning: Depart at 6:00 AM for a full-day exploration of the Serengeti. Your expert guide will tailor the day to the movement of wildlife, searching for the Big Five and the Great Migration herds. The early morning is prime time for predator sightings as lions, cheetahs, and leopards are most active.
Midday: Full exploration of the central Serengeti, covering the Seronera River valley (high density of lions and leopards), the kopjes where predators rest, and the open plains where cheetahs hunt. Picnic lunch at a scenic kopje overlooking the endless plains.
Afternoon: Continue game drive through different habitats until approximately 4:00 PM. Your guide tracks the movement of the Great Migration herds using real-time reports from the park network. During the dry season (June-October), the herds gather around permanent water sources in the northern and western Serengeti.
Evening: Return to camp as the sun sets. Enjoy dinner under the stars and share stories of the day's sightings around the campfire.

The 260-square-kilometre caldera floor offers some of the most concentrated wildlife viewing in Africa.
Afternoon: Explore the crater floor covering Lake Magadi (flamingos), the Gorigor Swamp (hippos and elephants), the Lerai Forest (buffalo and baboons), and open grasslands (zebra, wildebeest, predators). Ascend to your crater rim camp in the late afternoon.
Evening: Sundowner drinks at the camp's observation deck as the sun sets over the crater rim at 2,286 metres altitude. Gourmet dinner followed by stargazing.

Meet Your Expert Safari Guide
Your guide is the difference between a good safari and a life-changing one. Every Kizza Adventures guide is born-and-raised Tanzanian with years of professional experience.
Daniel Mrith - Kizza Adventures Safari Guide
"Jambo! I'm Daniel, born and raised at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro in a small village called Moshi. I've been guiding safaris for over 12 years - I started as a driver-guide assistant, learning every river crossing, kopje, and lion pride territory by heart before I ever led my first solo trip. I still get excited every time I enter the Serengeti.
My most memorable sighting? Last July, we watched a cheetah mother teach her three cubs to hunt on the Serengeti plains - it took over two hours, and by the end there wasn't a dry eye in the vehicle. These are the moments a guide book can't prepare you for.
I know the Serengeti like my backyard - where the lions are resting at 10 AM, where the leopards hunt at dusk, and where the migration will be based on the last rains. Let me show you the Tanzania I grew up loving."

Your Flight to the Serengeti
Most safari companies don't explain the flight. We believe in full transparency. Here's exactly what to expect.
Aircraft Type
Cessna Grand Caravan or similar high-wing aircraft (12 - 14 passengers). High wings mean unobstructed views from every window. The aircraft is pressurized and air-conditioned.

Safety Standards
All aircraft are maintained to international standards. Pilots are certified with 1,000+ flying hours. Regular safety audits and strict weather minimums ensure your safety is never compromised.
Your Pilot & Crew
Professional pilots provide safety briefing and commentary during the flight. Upon landing, your private safari guide meets you on the airstrip with a chilled welcome drink and a 4x4 vehicle ready to go.
Airstrip & Landing Experience
You may land at Seronera (central), Kogatende (north), or Kusini (south) airstrip depending on the migration location. The landing itself is an experience - watching wildlife scatter as you touch down on a dirt strip in the middle of the savannah.
Private 4x4 Toyota Land Cruiser
Your vehicle is more than transport - it's your mobile observation deck, dining room, and photography platform for 6 Days.

The Great Migration & Best Time to Visit
The Serengeti ecosystem changes dramatically throughout the year. Here's when to go and what to expect.
The Great Migration - Nature's Greatest Spectacle
The Great Migration involves over 1.5 million wildebeest, 400,000 zebras, and 200,000 gazelles moving in a continuous cycle across the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem. This 6-Day Luxury Tented safari is designed to place you wherever the herds are, with flights to the appropriate airstrip.
December - March: Calving season in the southern Serengeti (Ndutu area). Thousands of calves born daily. Predator action at its peak.
April - May: Migration moves through Tarangire, Serengeti & Ngorongoro. Long rains - fewer crowds, lush landscapes, lower rates.
June - October: Dry season. Migration herds concentrate in northern and western Serengeti. Your flight lands at the closest airstrip to the action.
November: Short rains. Migration moves south. Good wildlife viewing with fewer tourists.
We track the migration in real-time and adjust your airstrip and tented camp to be where the animals are.
Month-by-Month Wildlife Calendar
Temperature range: 15-18°C (59-64 - F) early mornings to 26-28°C (79-82 - F) afternoons. Early morning game drives require a light jacket or fleece.
Great Migration Month-by-Month Tracker
Follow the herds across the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem. We fly you to the closest airstrip to the action.
We track the migration by satellite and guide reports. Your airstrip and tented camp selection adapt to where the herds are.
Safari Photography Guide
Capture the Serengeti like a pro. Our guides are trained to help you get the shot.
Recommended Gear
DSLR or mirrorless with a telephoto zoom (200-400mm or 100-400mm ideal). A wide-angle (16-35mm) for landscapes and camp shots. Spare batteries and memory cards are essential - charging available at all tented camps.
Golden Hour Magic
The best light is 6:00 - 8:30 AM and 4:30 - 6:30 PM. Our game drives are scheduled around these windows. The low angle creates warm tones, long shadows, and dramatic wildlife portraits.
Drone Regulations
Drones are strictly prohibited in Tanzanian national parks without special permits. Do not bring a drone - it will be confiscated at the airport. We offer professional aerial footage upon request (pre-arranged).
Guide Positioning
Our guides communicate with each other via radio to share sightings. They position the vehicle at the optimal angle for light, composition, and safety. Don't hesitate to ask your guide to move the vehicle for a better shot.
Vehicle Bean Bags
Each vehicle has a window-mount bean bag for lens stabilization. This is more effective than a tripod and allows quick setup when the action is happening. We also carry a monopod in the vehicle.
Protect Your Gear
Dust is the #1 enemy of camera equipment. Bring a camera dust blower, lens cleaning cloths, and a rain cover (dust cover). Zip-lock bags for memory cards and batteries. Avoid changing lenses in open air when possible.
What to Pack for Your tented Safari

Essential Travel Tips for Tanzania
Everything you need to know before you arrive - visa, vaccines, money, SIM cards, and more.
Visa Requirements
Most nationalities require a visa for Tanzania. E-visa available at visa.immigration.go.tz (apply 2+ weeks before travel). Visa on arrival also available at JRO/NBO airports - $50 USD for US citizens, $50 for most others. Check your country's specific requirements.
Health & Vaccinations
Yellow Fever certificate required if travelling from an endemic country. Recommended: Hepatitis A, Typhoid, Tetanus, and routine vaccinations. Malaria prophylaxis is strongly recommended - consult your doctor 4-6 weeks before travel.
Travel Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory. Must cover medical evacuation, trip cancellation, baggage loss, and emergency repatriation. We recommend World Nomads, SafetWing, or your local provider. We do not sell insurance but can advise on adequate coverage.
Money & Tipping
USD is widely accepted. Carry small bills ($1, $5, $10, $20) for tips and incidentals. ATMs available in Arusha but unreliable in safari areas. Recommended tipping: guide $20-30/day, cook $10-15/day. Credit cards accepted at tented camps (3-5% surcharge).
SIM Cards & Internet
Buy a local SIM at JRO airport arrivals or in Arusha. Vodacom and Airtel have the best coverage in safari areas. 10GB data costs ~$10. tented camp WiFi is available but can be slow in remote areas. WhatsApp works well throughout most of the Serengeti.
Tipping Culture & Etiquette
Tanzania has a tipping culture. Tipping is not mandatory but is appreciated. Safari guides rely on tips as a significant part of their income. Tipping guideline: Safari guide $20-30 per person per day. tented camp staff $5-10 per day. Use the tented camp tip box for general staff.
