Four Days of Permits, Light and Multi-Zone Coverage
A recce day followed by three shoot blocks — each zone and each light window sequenced so the footage covers the full central-Serengeti story.
Departure from Arusha takes the crew across the highlands and into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area on the road to the central gate. Camera and vehicle permits are verified at each checkpoint as the fixer handles the formalities and the specialist vehicle carries the full production kit down onto the plains.
Central-Serengeti arrival opens the location intro across the Seronera film zone — the riverine woodland access, the kopje approach roads and the open-plains entry points surveyed for the week's compositions. The fixer confirms the first shoot window and pre-positions the vehicle for pre-dawn.
Kit briefing at camp closes the evening: card workflow, backup routine, battery rotation and the first call sheet. The overnight is a comfortable en-suite camp or lodge near the zones, confirmed at booking.

The final shoot block uses the Moru Kopjes' granite landscape in the closing golden light — the zone that adds texture and contrast to the edit. The fixer positions the vehicle among the outcrops while the crew captures the final compositions.
Wrap-down at camp: full rushes backup and pack, then the exit formalities. The fixer confirms road conditions and the crew's onward connection times before departure.

Vehicle Bean Bags

Dust is the #1 enemy of camera equipment. Bring a camera dust blower, lens cleaning cloths, and a rain cover (dust cover). Zip-lock bags for memory cards and batteries. Avoid changing lenses in open air when possible.
