The itinerary begins with a transfer from your Zanzibar hotel to the airport and check-in for the scheduled bush flight. The small aircraft carries just a handful of passengers, departure is efficient, and the window view rolls from the coral coast up over the mainland's green plains and valleys.
The routing to the Serengeti is confirmed at booking — direct in some patterns and via a northern Tanzanian hub in others. As the aircraft drops over the park, the airstrip greets you as a strip of gravel set in endless grass.
Your driver-guide meets you on the ground and the first game drive starts immediately — the wildlife begins at the airstrip edge. Check-in at your fly-in lodge or camp follows in the soft light, with a full-board dinner and the first night inside the park.

When the migration is in the south in January-March or the west and north from June-October, large herds may pass through or near the central corridor. Your guide adapts the game days toward the current resident and visiting wildlife.
