Uhuru Peak, 5,895 m
Africa's highest point — higher than anything in Canada by over 3,000m. Sunrise from the crater rim with the curvature of the Earth visible: the summit photographs justify the entire journey.
Gold certificate for Uhuru proves it back home in Ontario, BC and beyond.

Challenging High-Altitude Trekking
No technical climbing — but seven days of real mountain walking with a serious summit night. Canadian Rockies fitness translates well; prairie flatlanders should train stairs for months.
Honest effort, honestly rewarded.
Quality Tents, Full Service
Four-season mountain tents, dining tent, fresh cooked meals and hot washing water at every camp — expedition comfort run by crews who do this weekly.
Sleep warm at 4,000m while coyotes' African cousins call in the distance.
For Scenery Seekers
Gradual western ascent through five climate zones with the mountain's finest viewpoints daily — made for travellers who chose Lemosho for beauty first and summit second (and usually get both).
Bring the good camera: Banff has nothing on Shira at dawn.
Start in Moshi, Tanzania
Fly via Amsterdam, Doha or Istanbul to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) — our team meets you at arrivals and handles everything to Moshi base.
One team from touchdown to takeoff: that is the Kizza promise to Canadian guests.
Kilimanjaro International Airport
JRO is the primary arrival: direct road transfer to Moshi in under an hour, with visa on arrival for Canadian passport holders.
Land, clear customs, meet your guide — the adventure starts at the arrivals gate.
Arrive a Day Early
At least one full day before the climb for the pre-climb briefing, gear check and jet-lag recovery — crossing eight time zones demands a buffer day.
Use it well: briefing, equipment check, early night, big mountain tomorrow.
